When will we be able to customize our UI in our ships to make them more personal to us? I'm not just talking about color, I'm referring to everything from color to layout even different types of UI for different ships.

I wouldn't get your hopes up unless some amazing CMDR out there somewhere finds a way to mod it into existence. A custom UI color wheel has been asked for since the first playable day and still isn't here without mod support. Be thankful for what you've got, but don't stop asking for more either.

Not going to happen.

They'd have to change their Cobra Engine to allow such features which would require a year I guess of work.

Modifying the colours while an option is neither supported not adhered to by FDev.

A very long time. Frontier have said in a few livestreams its way down on the list of priorities. Elite's HUD isn't just a series of .png files like lots of games, it's "actually quite complicated".

Yeah I'm not getting to hopeful of this idea/feature. The game is great for ME it's just the UI is dull, being as though we spend most of our time there should be some type of effects. The only time it changes is on planetary approaches and those features should be implemented more often, such as combat. Hell I'll even take the color and UI changes a little when entering combat.
