UI Turns Green By Itself

Hi I'm very new to Elite. After jumping into certain systems the UI will sometimes turn green and stay that way until I jump out to a different one. Is this normal based on the composition of certain stars and the light they emit or a game glitch? Thanks!

When you say "UI" did you mean to say AI ?
If they are green on radar and station icon you are allied with them .

you can also take a screenshot in-game. It'll put it in your 'User directory\Pictures\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous' folder

f10 i think the key is by default. Its listed in controls if not.
