Ultimate Expedition and Goal

Hello CMDRs! I was looking for what can I achieve in ED to be known in the game, but also help our community to know more about the game! First thing is that I set goal myself to have 100,000 systems First Discovered on EDSM with also bodies FDs and this is looking like that (for today):

4 or more AW in systemX
2 or more of each type: ELW, WW, AWX
5 or more WW and at least 1 ELW and 1 AWX

4 or more WG in systemX
ELW or WW or AW or WG orbiting O starX
9 or more C5 GG in systemX
Glowing Gas GiantX
System with at least 120 bodiesX

I will update it every week or every month!

Second thing is to get know what is percent chance to have given number of bodies in given type main star! For example Rocky bodies:

And Icy bodies:
1638903096006.png

Of course I have also other types of bodies and I think to make it nice and clear in Google Sheet instead of spamming here a lot of pictures and diagrams.

I hope you will keep your finger crossed and I will have strenght to make it happen!
Fly safe CMDRs! o7

I'm not sure about the numbers. You can get 40 WDs in 2 hours if you happen to find yourself in one of many WD-rich areas of the Galaxy but 100k Class-Ms will take A LOT of time.

Fingers crossed anyway, a monumental endeavour!

Agreed with the WDs, if your are not picky for them to be of the DBZ type, then in the right area many of those 40 WDs may already come en passant while looking for Carbons and Neutrons.
As for the 100k M, 50k K class stars, and all the brown dwarfs I am not so pessimistic, as you get many as secondary stars with F or A primaries. Similarly for the 5k T-Tauri, which you will find plenty as addons in E/F/G/H mass code systems with A/B/O etxc stars.
Getting the first discovery on 100 Wolf-Rayet on the other hand - you can't directly filter for them and they are mostly in H and maybe G code systems of which there are rather few. As few as maybe a handful per sector outside the core and even fewer have WRs - and those will often already have been visited.
Not to mention the Helium Gas Giant. You can just as well put Raxxla on the list 👽

Anyway, good luck for your endeavour.

Edit: Just checked my stats. I haven't played the last two weeks, but the week before that I scanned random systems in D code boxels 1000ly above the galactic plane. In those 563 systems visited I discovered 108 White Dwarfs and 93 Neutron stars.

I mostly plan to fly totally in random direct on without strict filtering for WDs or Neutrons that's why I write this numbers. I think myself that the hardest part is 1k ELW and 1M icy bodies which is huge amount. 😅 I hope also that after some time i would show you that you have for example 11,2% to get more than 5 HMCs in F Star systems etc.!

I estimate you'll need about 200k jumps to complete your goals (or at least most of them). Assuming 100 jumps per day, it gives 5.5 years of everyday jumping. Good luck!

Question: why there are no Herbigs on your list? :geek:

Suggestion: stick to the Galaxy core, not further than, say, 5-6 kylies from Sag A*. I'd say it's the best area to find everything you need and to find the stuff unexplored.

I also think that going close to the Sag A is the best option and set to economic route. I can add Herbigs to the list! How many do you think i should try to get looking at the others? I'm hoping to make it happen in less than 5 years but who knows how long it will take!

Back at the time i started my exploration career with a somewhat similar goal: to find at least one untagged star/planet of each type.
But numbers like 100 000 M class or 1 000 000 icy planets...these look pretty crazy to me :) I think it will take you more time than you imagine. After 7 years and 60 000 systems visited i am far away from the numbers in your list for many of the object types.
I suggest you add to your list things like blue, red and yellow giants and supergiants. Carbon stars and neutrons also come with different flavors, some much rarer than others. Personally i prefer hunting rare things than aiming for numbers. But each has their own preferences. Good luck :)

Okay challenge accepted! I will also add things which are really rare to my list! I will try my best to make it as fast as possible, but I have time and years to make it happen! 😁

Helium Gas Giants are all bugged planets, so I would suggest taking them out. Or maybe replace finding one Helium Gas Giant with finding one Green Gas Giant?
Oh, and just to make sure: I wasn't talking about Helium-Rich Gas Giants (HRGG) here, but the different Helium Gas Giants instead.

By the way, your target goal of 1000 HRGG should be comparatively quick to hit, since they can be found in large numbers inside boxels with high helium levels.

Well anyway, good luck with this!

Okay I will increase HRGG goal and also add to special list GGG! 😁

I am curious as to how you arrived at the Goal numbers? Did you pick largely random levels, or was there a methodology to how you came up with say 500 Ammonia Worlds?

Oh wait it should 2500 😅 Random numbers first, but after that I checked to every goal to be pretty close to achieve.

How come FDEV haven't patched them out?
They did that quick enough to glowing magenta giants...
Probably because those were graphical issues, while this would have to do with body generation and classification. So it's either that fixing it would cause changes to everything else (a big no no), or, more likely, they simply didn't notice this. There are very few of these, after all.
