I liked Ulysses, and all those other cheesey cartoons - Battle of the Planets, Mysterious Cities of Gold, and many others that my ageing memory struggles to recall now!

Ulysses, heman and trasformers were good shows. No doubt, but did you guys ever watch s.h.a.g.m.a? (Lol, had to put dot's between each character, first 4 letters got sensured) French cartoon about a couple of kids and Spartacus on a journey to the centre of the earth. Good times!:):)

Nope, don't remember that one. There were all foreign though, and dubbed into English with varying degrees of quality, as I recall...

but Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, that one with the Pheonix...

and that amazingly realistic cartoon .. Glen Michael and his magical talking bong Palladin.. :S

I didn't get on with Citys of Gold or Jayce and the wheeled warriors.

No one has mentioned The Centurions. The POWER XTREME! bit was great.

It's the earliest TV show that I can actually remember. I only remembered the basic details though - spaceships that turn into a giant red robot, huge X-wing with a massive gun hidden under the neck, enemies that look like ants which have six attack craft held on the legs of insect-like carriers... I never realised it had a plot until I rediscovered it in the late 90's through the wonders of Youtube.

imho MCoG & Ulysses 31 rank 1 & 2 in the best cartoons ever made with Full Metal Alchemist at no.3 - after that u have I think ThunderCats and a ton of Anime like Ghost in the Shell. Vampire Hunter D, Ninja Scroll, Fist of the North Star, Lord of the Rings (animated)... all very good

I'd say the Shuki/Levy audio is a touch better in U31 but where it loses compared to MCoG is the story arc. U31 is more like Star Trek with episode stories where as MCog and Full Metal are like B5 with a proper journey.

either way its a tough call they are all exceptional pieces of work, and I truly pity those that look at Frozen (and other Disney movies) as being the best not because they don't feel that way but because they haven't seen what is better

I'm still traumatised from finding out his real name was Odysseus and because of this he's always Ulysses in my mind...

Yeah, Ulysses, He-Man, Thundercats, MASK (crusaders...), Transformers, Go-Bots (Go Botty!), Eighty Days around the World... we were truly spoiled (Cities of GOLD!) in the eighties.

This is what happens when they stopped teaching Classics at school.

Can't help feeling playing Elite has a similar fate to Ulysses.
