unable start in non-VR mode after installing Vive without plugging out power.

my Vive is certainly not started (no steamVR status, the top right VR icon is white, not green). But no matter i start the non horizon launcher, horizon launcher, the Vive will always activate itself and the game start in VR mode despite i didn't pick that option.

is this normal or bugged?

Normal. If you have the HMD selected in graphics options it will turn on Steam VR automatically.

I play my main account on monitor as I'm exploring in deep space and need to use the galaxy map. Can't do that in VR so I turn the HMD off. When I go into my other accounts I turn it back on.

I don't understand this :S I only set a course one time, some 1000 LY, how many hours play is that?
After exploring a system I say "jump to the next system" to my board computer 'Kate' and off I go.
No need the galaxy map....
