Unable to add friend who plays on a Mac

Hi all,

I seem unable to add a friend to Elite, are there any known issues with this functionality?

I play on Windows and he plays on a Mac. I've sent a request but it seems to have disappeared into the void. Presumably it should go something like this:

Person A sends an add friend request to Person B. It's picked up by B (or when he is next on-line), who then accepts it and both parties are then friends with each other with the names being added to each Commander's friends list respectively. This list persists even when you log off.

Both players can then fly in the same game instance.

Anything wrong with this and am I doing anything wrong?

Being friends doesn't automatically put you in the same instance unless you are playing in the same private group. I don't know how being friends affects islanding in open though.

Sometimes communication doesn't work right until you jump once so get both logged on, both high wake once and then try again.

They joys of p2p. The single thing, that might kill ed eventually. Everything else can be fixed.
