Unable to colonise "my" system that contains my named planet

Donkeys years ago I was lucky enough to be able to name a planet in ED.
I've been waiting to colonise it since it's already got my named planet in it.
Alas, it's got a red X and so colonisation is a no go.

I can't see any reason why I should not be able to claim this system.
Is it locked out of being colonised because of my named planet?
Is this a situation where I contact FDev and say "pretty please, with cherries on top" and they will assign it to me?

Any one else ran into this issue?

As someone who has dozens of worlds named after me, i can honestly say that i sympathise.
Im sure a good number of people here with worlds named after them will also attest.

Are you perhaps confusing first discovery with early backers who got to name planets/systems at higher pledge tiers?

Some are locked off from colonization for various reasons. IIRC, if the system has a tourist beacon, it can't be colonized. Could it be that?

WISE actually.

(wasnt aware of the pledge naming, wondering how many people in game who made that pledge are still playing aside from the OP)

Ah. Funny.

I'm sure some are still around. If you are so heavily invested you tend to keep playing. I mean, there is someone on the forum who IIRC was a higher tier backer who seems to spend every day complaining about the game on the fourm, but i think they still play.

I think there's quite a few. Not sure what teir you're referring to but there's a good few of us DDFers still playing or lurking in the shadows
