Further thoughts
Seconded,
I have finally got my Imperial Clipper, having done so I am permanently stuck in the queue in HIP 110245 Fox Survey while all the NPC ASP, Type 6 & 7' s are taking advantage of the boom I caused farming the route between it and Kupan.
What is the point is the player is the least important thing in the game
I have viewed the December threads and apparently it is not a bug but a deliberate developer issue ?
NPC ships are allowed to dock up to Anaconda class but not the player, I see this as the issue where the players collision detection is activated in which case a large pad should have been created on the space station where a ship could magnetically dock, unload - load and have no access to upgrade services but be ejected from the station without the rotation sequence which despite the odd post in favour outside a Dodo station is unnecessary at all times, simply being shot upwards as if from a cannon by a blast of air is perfectly good undocking in space. The big ships should never enter the space stations.
There is another point, none of the staff or commentators have ever worked in logistics,
I do,
the entirety of a space logistic based economy would rely heavily on regular type 6 & 7 Heavy transporters on long term contracts and it is your small/Medium docks which are in short supply for the odd courier. My current workplace has 60 bays for heavy articulated lorries and 2 bays to offload the odd van with a drive in bay for offloading HGV 1's inside the warehouse.
That is how it works, not visa versa. The little guy would be stuck in the queue waiting to be offloaded, the guy on the contract waiting to be loaded to catch the ferry is the priority, he has a deadline.
The reason for the station is that it already is reliant on that big fleet commercial contract where it purchases extra capacity with independents usually with a good reputation for a substantial supply run - simulated well in X2 & X3 missions where a supply total was ordered and the player made multiple supply runs to a time limit. The regular timetabled NPC logistic fleets are representative of a supply chain which results in the stations stock level and current prices, which a single player despite a 220 tonne hold will not dent. The supply chain is bringing along another 4000 units in the next hour in the case of a refinery/extraction station where a constant supply of Pythons appear to replenish stock from resource areas.
Needless to say I have stopped playing at this time to sort out a website and will wait until someone cares about allowing ships to dock or at least trade with a station by having a shuttle dock and transport cargo. Too many bugs and now I have a rich ship in orbit one best left until someone cares to fix them. See you in space again in 2016 - if they bother.
