Unable to get current setting for GeForce Experience

When i attempt to set it for optimization it says" unable to retrieve current game settings" I've tried reinstalling the game, messing with in game settings but nothing seems to work. I have the most recent GeForce drivers. I'm running a RTX 3060.

I'm not sure, but I think it's because the searching finds the launcher rather that the actual game. I can't find a way to direct the search to the game executable.

This has been an issue since I've started playing the game 3 years ago. In between, I've reinstalled Windows, reinstalled steam and nvidia drivers (not for this purpose), but geforce experience simply can't pull the ED data. Odyssey doesn't even appear in the list. I believe I've read a solution involving a steam codec, but I recall it was pretty convoluted. I would ignore it if I were you. ED's graphical settings are different from most other games.

If you want some help with the graphical settings, look up down to earth astronomy's graphic settings guide on YouTube. It's really good.

the only thing really useful I have heard is the game rec software shadow play...………...
I never install it personally
Uninstall GeForce Experience. It's worthless.
It's free. It looks after your drivers to make sure you're always updated and it has the nice and simple to use recording, which you can switch on and off manually, or, most important of all, is that you can grab the last 5 minutes of play. That 5 minute grab is really useful for people that don't understand the game. When weird things happen, like getting blown up for "no reason", they can review what actually happened to get a better understanding and learn from their mistakes.

Here's a classic example. Without grabbing that last 5 minutes, nobody would know how this happened at 0:30. Even then, it takes a lot of analysis and detailed study. Without the evidence, it would have gone down as a bug:

If you have a 3060, I guess you can set everything to High or Ultra and still use downscaling!
My 2060 let's my use all High, without downscaling, ranging from 45 to 90 FPS (limited in settings to 90 FPS).
At the lower FPS, nVidia profiler shows CPU at 100% with the GPU around 80%. Obviously, there's no point in pushing the GPU if the system is CPU limited.
