Unable to go into Open play!!!

Sup people two of my friends are not able to go into open play for some reason,
I'm hoping that someone out there can help me out,

they load up the game on the Xbox, click on open play and then the game automatically puts them into a solo game
if some one knows how to fix this please let me know....

Make a hyperspace jump or enter supercruise

The game forces you solo first of all to stop new players from being spawn camped.

Or, as Yaffle said, simply enter supercruise and leave the station area.
