Unable to pay off my Wanted Bounty

I received a bounty while bounty hunting pirates on a BB mission. In 31 New Aqualie(?) and Independent station, system Authority vessel flew right into my line of fire. I am pretty good at checking my fire but man sometime this is so unavoidable especially when you going all out trying to get the kill on a pirate as your ship is telling you 'Frame Shift Charge Detected'

As has happened a dozen or more times before I high-tailed it and jumped to another system Empire control to land and pay it off. I end up Launching without paying it off ... I thought ... (I had a couple tonight lol) so I just turn around and Land again. I go to pay it off under Contact/Pilots Fed. Nothing there to pay. So I launch and go back to finish my mission for 7 pirates and I'm still wanted!

I have checked 2 Other systems, A fed system and another Independent system Furblaide(?), No option to pay it off.

I have re-logged a couple times as said in another thread I tried to pay it and no dice, I am stuck with a 550 Bounty:

1) Did I do something wrong, if you land and launch again without paying it off does the game think you never intend to at that point and not allow you to?

2) Do I have to pay this off in the system I got it for some reason? Rather not go back and try unless I knew.


This has kinda bummed me out for playing right now as I do not want to risk all my Bounty CLaims and missions (which some of I will if not all because of the timer).

3) Is this common, because it really kind of sucks knowing this can happen at any time and is totally beyond your control. Was really enjoying the game too.

I had this happen to me the other day. I believe it's a bug unfortunately. I ended up self-d'ing...which I don't advise. You may have to wait it out unfortunately.

Keevan, this happened to me a while back and I didn't think there was anything I could do about it, so I pretty much just racked up a bounty because even if you have cargo you "found" floating in space you get fined, before I knew it I had over 400K of debt, it didn't stop me docking etc. it was just annoying having the cops attack me at the ports etc - the real kicker is, I finally got taken down and lost everything, it sent me back to jameson with nothing, I lost my alpha backers gifted cobra Mk III that I had fully decked out and guess what, I still have over 400K of debt with the starter ship and nothing to my name, as much as I love this game, it makes me sick to my stomach every time I get destroyed as I have to start from scratch with hundreds of thousands in debt, I cant really see any way out of it, so the moral to this story is, pay off your debts when you can.

Had it happen today, got a bounty even though I am sure I only hit the wanted ship. I went to an outpost with a wanted tag but had no bounty to pay which was strange. I logged out/in and it cleared.

It is a bug since 1.07.

Simple solution, if you get a bounty or fine, just exit to menu and re-enter the game and it is gone. Though at some point FD will fix the bug, and it may just happen that all the fines and bounties you've collected will come back. So be aware, do not leave a station or outpost without checking if you are wanted anywhere for whatever reason.

I play soloa and I have had it happen 3 times today since loading 1.07. If I shoot a wanted NPC before my scan completes to show they are wanted, I get a 400cr bounty, even though the are wanted. If I go to the nearest station where the Local Rep bounty is due, it does not show to pay it off. Log out and back in clears it. So, after the 1st time, I no longer bothering going back to the station and just log off outside the resource extraction site where I am bounty hunting to clear the bounty.

Very annoying if it is a bug. There seems to be a lot of people having the same issue.

Federation wanted tag (by accident) and I couldn't pay it off at Fed stations/outposts - had no criminal record, apparently! (but still big price on my head and attacked by the law all the time). Saw the log-off idea and it worked.

Does beg the question: what's the point in wanted tags/fines if they just disappear after logging-out?!

Oh they are not gone, just hidden. Some people got their bugged numbers added to a new fine/bounty they incurred. Say u got 400cr loitering that's gone and hidden, then you got 5k for whatever, it comes out as 5.400 on the transaction page.

So mine did clear eventually last night as others above have stated.

Tried to play again this morning and happened again. Right as I was killing a big fat Anaconda Wanted then could not pay it off to continue hunting for pirates.

Bleh, so annoying. I think I am done playing till this is fixed. While it may not be considered game breaking it sure is play session breaking, I really don't want to have to look for new missions and system every time this happens in order to keep playing.

Same. When I realised this was a bug I turned the game off. I don't want to be stamped with being Wanted and no way to undo it. It's only a 1600c fine too, but it could easily grow as Federal ships fly right through my Beam Lasers. Stupid blind pilots, I'm trying to help them out.

Same here, ticketed, but no response yet.

Attacked a wanted ship, but then I became wanted and got a whole load of attention from Security Vessels. Flew to the station to pay of the fine, 400cr and the wanted disappeared and no fine. Launched again, flew to Nav Beacon and wanted status was back.

I logged out, like people suggested and wanted and fine are gone. Attacked another pirate and my wanted status is back. Flew to another station to clear and nothing to pay and wanted disappeared when I went to pay. So each time I fly out bounty hunting, I am wanted and attract attention from security, fly back and can't pay it off. Log out and it goes, but as soon as I attack a wanted ship, my wanted status returns. Happens only since the 1.07 update

Though tonight got interdicted on the way to Nav Beacon, I submitted, but nothing happened, no drop out or ship there, I was still in SC, so I continued onto the Nav Beacon, dropped out and was wanted, attacked by security, went back to SC and wanted disappeared.

I have uploaded pics of this with the ticket and stopped playing, as something is obviously not working correctly and with only one save game, I am not prepared to go through the same type of problems I had when the server crash happened over Xmas and I lost credits with the disconnects and then had to wait ages for it to be fixed

Same happened to me: galaxy wide bounty. I was not allowed to pay it off, as it did not show up as a registered bounty when I tried to do so.
Have not checked since my log out.

This happened to me multiple times to me today

Suddenly while sitting talking to another commander we both got a bounty of 0, I saw his change and he saw mine suddenly change
When I say 0, it said in RED on the right console :Bounty:0 but I was wanted



We went to the station and could not pay it off

I logged off and when I came back it was gone, happened 2-3 more times while not even in combat but the others were between 200 and 400, there was nothing to say what it was for, just noticed the wanted tag appear at random

Had this a couple times tonight and at first thought it was due to stray bullets but it seems not.

Then I got a 400Cr fine while sitting in a station scoping out missions. Looked at one, checked galaxy map, no problems. Selected the next one, back to the galaxy map and the neighbouring systems showed me as wanted. Sure enough, I had a wanted status, 400Cr fine and the station I was in no longer trusted me enough to do the missions I was looking into.

So not only is this annoying it's also potentially screwing up our rep? Probably not a good time to be trying to get a navy advancement mission.

It looks like there are two things which seem to be broken. First is the "wanted flag cannot be cleared at the wanted station", second is that wanted flag sometimes appear out of nowhere during the fight. This happened to me twice, yesterday and today, when bounty hunting in RES, I was shooting wanted Cobra and then suddenly I got fine and wanted flag. There were no authority ship in the sight, but it behaved like I actually shot one. First time I thought, ok maybe I just did not notice and eventually really shot one, second time even that I really tried I could not identify any authority ship I could have shot.
