Unable to play at all

So I bought ED + Horizons on steam way back when and all was good. Soon after Odyssey was available to purchase, I pre-ordered (non-alpha version) direct from frontier store. When it released, I go to launch the game, when I selected Odyssey it said it wasn't installed and play/install was greyed out. I fixed that using the press enter solution, got everything downloaded. However, now the hotfix dropped and when I go to run the launcher it says an update is needed and no matter what I click, the launcher just closes. I tried its instructions to set the game high priority updates but Steam is not going to update it because I don't own the Odyssey DLC on steam, and the launcher refuses to do anything but inform me of it not being up to date before closing. Soooo now I guess I can't play the game at all now, not even horizons, without repurchasing the Odyssey DLC on steam? What. The. Heck. There needs to be an option to get a steam key for Odyssey DLC or something to fix this . At the very least, let the launcher STAY OPEN so we can still play horizons till this mess with Odyssey is sorted out.
