I've been undermining for Pranav for about a week so far, and I've managed to make it to rank 2 and gain a further 150 merits. My problem is that all of these merits have been gained solely through turning Sirius Industrial Equipment over to the Utopian authorities, and that all of my Sirius Security kills (and believe me, there are a lot of them) haven't raised my merit level at all. I've made all of these kills in Sirius control systems (Hel, Maikoro), but no merit change at all. Am I doing something wrong?
To undermine a like power (in your case, independents) you have to turn in cargo. To undermine an unlike power (for you, Feds, Empire, Alliance) you have to kill ships.
As a Winters pilot myself, I get merits for kills of everybody except Hudson, who I'd have to steal cargo from.
Probably LYR is not your best target. Check the Antal subreddit for preferred targets.
