Unable To Update Launcher From Steam

I purchased this on a Steam sale a while back and just downloaded it for the first time. I made a Frontier account, and was able to link it, but then got an error that the client needed updated. I followed its instructions, no luck. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, restarted Steam, my machine, etc.
