Uncap the weekly ARX quota.

Earning ARX every week is honestly pretty fun. It gives you a sense of progression, it rewards you for playing the game, it encourages you to participate and create an active community.

Unfortunately, that runs out after about an hour. It really doesn't take very long to max out your weekly ARX accumulation.

Further, while I do want to support fdev, and I do need more ARX to buy some of the things I want, I really have no particular desire to just buy it straight up, because that's not terribly enjoyable. The progression and earning it is a big part of what makes it fun.

So here's an odd idea. What if we could pay a monthly fee to uncap the amount of ARX we can earn?

I'm thinking something like $10 a month, maybe with some sort of discount if you sign up to have it be recurring. For particularly active players, this could be a highly efficient way of accumulating ARX, but for most players it would probably be less efficient than the alternative.

From Fdev's perspective, however, it would create a degree of consistent income, which would allow them to predict their development costs ahead of time, which would be good. For players who like earning things, it would allow us to do so rather than outright buying them, which would also be good.

I don't know. Crazy? Or just crazy enough to work?

Yes, you are crazy.
I don't know. I mean, yes, but there is merit in the madness. I've often wondered what an optional subscription would look like; a nominal amount of ARX each month as part of the deal would be good, but uncapping, or at least significantly raising the potential earning limit could be a nice perk on top of that.

10$ is still more than 0$, but I'm not sure if someone would pay for function to remove weekly ARX limit alone.
I'm living in a country where 10$ costs me around 8x more than players living in USD/EUR zone (exchange rate, average monthly income included too) and I would like to get something more for that. Maybe some things like:
*extra character slot that would share account assets (ships, modules, FC management) excluding reputation status of various powers.
*ability to hire NPC pilot for one of my existing ship and give him basic commands like dock at, resupply carrier, return home or just be able to use remote control on it. Even something simple as APEX pilot for my own ship would do. Or even better ability to issue commands to existing other account character (via remote control using simple command like "dock at" "board ship as navigator").

So you do not care for ARX as you do not ever buy them.. It takes your incentive away...
But now you want more of them.. And are willing to pay monthly to get a chance to earn more ARX than said 10$ can buy you??
(10$ is about 15000 arx.. So you have to earn about 40 times the weekly ARX in one week.....)

You are not crazy. This is delusional. I would like what you are having.

You do realize that with the HUGE inflation in store items prices your weekly income has increased a lot in Euro/Pounds/Dollars?

I'd like those things, but I really wouldn't want them to be something you purchase with real money. Thus far the ingame advantage of ARX purchases has been very minimal, but if they start price-locking convenience features that starts to feel pretty predatory and will diminish my enjoyment of the game.

It's not so much that I don't care for ARX, it's more that a part of ARX's value to me is that I've earned it. I enjoy the process of GETTING the arx more than I really enjoy HAVING it. I enjoy it when I'm just a few ARX away from a skin or kit and I earn that last little bit. It's about progression, not possession.

Bear in mind, this is supposed to be a monthly thing. You're right about 10 bucks being 15000 ARX, but if you make about 400 arx in an hour, then you'd realistically be able to get a better rate than normal if you primarily played Elite for that month. Playing 10 hours a week isn't all that difficult.

It SHOULD be difficult to beat the standard price rates, though; just not impossible. You don't really want to encourage players who just want ARX to do this purely for the rewards, as that could get frustrating. The objective is to reward players who already play a lot and who want to support fdev in a consistent manner, not to become the new default way of getting ARX.

Personally I feel that a tenner a month would be expensive. Maybe a monthly subscription of a fiver would catch my attention, still that would be equivalent to the price of an entire new game each year. Somehow it would have to offer a lot of content to feel worth it (at least to me personally).
