General Undeploy Odyssee, Re-Launch it in Autumn

Label it as a Beta. Sell if for $20. Give all owners of Odyssey $40 in free Arx. Listen to our suggestions. Maybe even implement some of them. Re-release if when it is ready. Sell it for the regular price of $40 on release.

Never gonna happen, but I can dream can't I :D
Easier to just do a full refund, make Odyssey free for the next 6-12 months in beta, then charge full price once it's ready.

Not gonna happen though because as the whole login shenanigans in this update showed... Fdev isn't really able to update this game properly anymore. It's a lot of one step forward, one step back.

I don't see them pulling it from storefronts or unreleasing it. It's here, it's what it is, and there appear to be plenty willing to beta this expansion out for them. By fall, I suspect it will be at respectable levels as far as fixing the worst of the bugs, fixing/reverting the UI, getting performance cleaned up a bit, tweaking how legs missions pay/complete/fail, and some of the current C&P quirks that don't make sense. Then the console launch will occur. I suspect that will go a lot better.
I will just wait until then myself. I am glad now that they did not include ship interiors, new SRV's, or Panther Clipper, I would have preordered, likely more than once.

Naah It's easier to rage, rage quit and keep being a armchair quarterback. Been quite the show so far.
FD seems to be really working hard to straighten odessey out. I can wait.

Dear FD Dev team,

Odysee is a big step, a necessary, we know. It has to happen to move the game to a more future proof state and further develop it. Though, unless you guys are able to make Odysee playable and stable within a week or two, just be consequent and prevent further damage from Elite Dangerous. Revert to Horizons, let people play at least and stay with Elite. With the current state of the game, it would be very generous to even call it a beta. I don't mean this in a flippant way, I'm simply worried about the community (aka the customer base) and the damage that this does to it. The current state of the game basically means that the Elite Dangerous universe is shut until further notice. Back to 2013, no Elite here ... move along. That is not good as this game lives of the vibrant community that fills the universe with life and your balance sheet with revenue.

This might be drastic but it might be just the right step: a) to keep the game, the universe and the community alive and b) to take pressure off the development team so that you can take a step back, breathe and get to it. I fear otherwise there will be lasting damage done to Elite and its community that will be hard to recover from which means that our beloved space game is in danger ending at some time.

What do you guys think?

Kind Regards,
CMDR Morr
Nope, if it ain't live it ain't get fixed
