Under Attack - No Hostiles Present - Say WHAT?

So I am forever getting peed off when the game tells me I am under attack and then I scan for hostiles and find none.

Personally I think the problem lies in the Target Hostiles button. I think it should target anyone who has fired weapons and is on the wanted list... the true definition of a hostile. Maybe System Defence craft should transmit local wanted alerts so that hostile wanted craft are easily found...

Yeah, and what is with the darn IFF system. If a pilot is wanted then they should show up as RED... not green. I have had two NPC's shooting at each other from the same faction... both showed up as green to me.

When under attack that you cannot see, hit Ctrl-B and check your bandwidth. If it's higher than a few dozen bytes/second there is another player around, and your instance may have broken.

Unfortunately the only way to fix this is by logging off.

I'm playing solo so I doubt that's the problem.... Probably I am getting hit by friendly fire now I think of it. Would make sense there are no hostiles detected. Cheers Asp.

If you are accidentally hit, run into a mine or have them near you, or have missiles near you then it will play the audio.

The warning doesn't try to intuit intention of attack, it just means "Holy spaceballs! Hot lasers and bullets be incoming!!!". When the warning sounds and there is no attacker, it just means I flew through another ship's line of fire. "My bad! Sorry dude, carry on" :)

The warning which DOES indicate that a ship has locked sensors on you and is firing weapons, is of course the flashing red blip in the sensor panel.

TL;DR:
Voice warning means: Your ship was actually hit (but was not necessarily fired at)
Sensor blip flashing means: Your ship is being fired at (but not necessarily hit)

(AFAIK)

Not sure if it's related - but if you are 'accidentally' hit by gunfire, then you get that audio warning.

And if the guy who accident my shot you was system authority then they will not turn red. On the plus side they will not continue to shoot you either.
