Undock for first time - Your Elite Song

I wish I could find the John Shirley Quirk version of Vaughn Williams' 'The Vagabond', but Bryn Terfel was the best I could manage...

Pretty much the only song I know that namechecks Lave, and is a stirring Song of Travel, if you like your classical music.

Get where your coming from aye - not my thing i think, like a bit of classical but stuff like Elgar and the like.

Primal Scream - Loaded

You can tell that most of us are all pushing 30/40 and beyond. ;)

:D so true ya know, lots of memories coming from some of the suggestions here so far.

Terrible wont it when we get invaded by the "noughties" en masse when marketing picks up :D

The Eagles ......Journey of the Sorcerer.(the long version)...........Don't Panic its just the start of a great adventure....lol

When I heard that song in full for the first time a year ago I was thoroughly surprised because for almost thirty years previous I'd believed that it was only the theme music to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I've listened to all the radio shows, watched the TV series, loathed the film, and read the complete 5-part trilogy. One day I sat down at my desk where I worked at the time, and found a business card on it saying that my telephone had been sanitised. My first thought was "I'm taking that home, it's the perfect bookmark". So the fact that the music was actually something before this was quite a shock to me.

Oh yes, music. That piece of music wasn't actually my choice. For some reason, when thinking about flying through space and setting off on an adventure, all I can think of is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUlwu4

I'd had the original vinyl album for a few years when I tuned-in to the very first radio episode of THHGTTG (1978, I think). I had no idea what to expect - but when I heard those first chords, I knew it would be something special.
