Unexpected Interdiction Outcome

I needed one NPC pirate to complete a mission so pulled one out of SC. What I found took me by surprise.

Yeah I've had that several times think its just a bug. Reminds me of that scene in Serenity when all the ships warp in behind Serenity :)

Always good to check if they are in a wing beforehand... ;)

It's not a bug. Lots of NPCs fly in wings (it showed when OP targeted the NPC in SC), and if you interdict one, the friends will come and join the action.

To be fair, in the video the target was in a wing of 3, not that many :)

Even so - had this happen once, dangerous stuff! Quickest escape I ever made.

Not a bug but a feature. These are linked wings of NPCs that share an affiliation with a minor faction. This is how you can get into epic battles with 8 sidewinders at once, etc.

Fitefly didn't have warp technology, they were just flying through a thick atmosphere of charged gas on around rocky planet so the reaver fleet merely appeared suddenly on the other side ;). The whole series took place in a single star system.

that happened to me yesterday...needed one kill and rooted into that. Got two kills before running off like a little girl.

Sure, Ziljan, but most players know that: the video shows he was hunting a wing of three but encountered far more than that, and not all of the same minor faction or wing.

It happened to me as well once, I interdicted a player, when we dropped in, his faction npc forces where there as well, I had to run

Never happened to me until I saw this thread... I had 7 pirates to kill and pulled out a conda. He wasn't in a wing but the instance had about 7 other ships from various minor factions, most being pirate type and coming to scan me. They didn't turn red since my cargo was full of batteries, making it rather a cakewalk to pick them out one by one. One interdiction enough for 4 or 5 missions in that system. Lucky me got to sleep earlier:D
