Currently, you jump into an unexplored system, and everything is, naturally, unexplored.
The entire sensors list is filled with "UNEXPLORED" - which is completely not helpful. When you move your reticle over things, you are rewarded with "UNEXPLORED" as well. Thanks, game, I would never have guessed.
But the map? A good honk reveals all the stars, all the planets, etc. Your nav computer KNOWS where everything is.
So: After a system is scanned, all revealed objects should have more data. Instead of just "UNEXPLORED" they should have "UNEXPLORED (<position>)"
Star A planet 4 would be "UNEXPLORED (A4)" after honk. This would allow people to have a much better idea which glowing dot is which. Along with the "NAVIGATION" list, which would also be updated with position information for each contact.
Also: A system map that shows orbit lines and current positions, along with player position. This would allow players to map out a shortest-distance route, instead of having to guess based on just the row of planetary stuff and a guess from what you can see near the star.
BONUS POINTS: DSS waypoints. Let players put DSS waypoints on bodies, so that once a body is DSS scanned, the next body in the list, or just the nearest waypoint body gets automatically selected.
