unhappy

Spent hours exploring 60+ only to lose them all after interdiction and getting killed! not happy...
can't see the reason for all thou's wasted hours, taken the edge off the game...

I feel for you. My condolences!

The 1.2 update did make interdictions more challenging and I guess all those lightly armed/armoured explorers out there are going to get a shock when coming back to civilisation.

Most have us have been there in one way or another. I lost 16.8 million crashing into a station last night. Got in on video though :) Was my own dumb fault but just stepped away and laughed about it after a while.

As to your specific death, there are ways to avoid NPC deaths. I'm sure some other explorers will share their tricks if you ask them.

Aww man, that hurts

Tho, next time, and please try it again make sure you are equipped to survive the return.

What were you flying?

Game has only been out for about 2000 hours......you been playing 24/7 for 2-3 Months?.........or did I read the post wrong......
.
I feel your pain though, lost 15000ly of data a couple weeks back...........just get back on the horse and head back out.........with guns this time.....:)

If you retained exploration data to sell after losing your ship there would never be the need to make a return journey. Players would just travel out as far as they wanted, fly into a sun and be teleported back to a nice station to sell their data. Which would be nonsensical and add way too much cottonwool around something that's meant to be dangerous. Any time I've went exploring I always keep my ship combat ready, packing weapons and shields.

I bought a viper (to keep insurance costs down) to go fool around with a capital ship, after getting killed I realized that I had not yet turned in around 2million credits worth of collected bounties (KWS sometimes has you truck-en across the galaxy to collect). On the brighter side my transactions tab is empty now.

I echo gravedodger:
I feel for you commander but it's dangerous out there ... What were you expecting?

Lots of sympathy for your loss, being insured means all you've lost is game time I hope

And I knew there was a reason my explorer Asp is packing multi-cannons, beam lasers, 2 PDTs, and B rated thrusters and shields.

Guess the trick to those last 500 ly will be jump 100ly, scoop, jump another 100, scop again and keep enough fuel on board to do 300ly in economy jump mode.

Bill

Last Known position : 5500 ly out somewhere between the lagoon nebula and the triffed nebula

I do like the idea of data storage units, that can be left behind in systems............if you "die", you can still go back and pick them up...........but, so could anyone else so you would have to hide them carefully........
