Sometimes, I forget to log into the game and accidentally run it, and this initializes the graphics settings setup again...however there is not option within the uninstaller to uninstall it. Or is it crucial to have them available in the main game as well, or is it completely standalong and the game tutorials are not dependent?

You can delete the folder at <where you installed the launcher>\EDLaunch\Products\COMBAT_TUTORIAL_DEMO which will make the launcher think you don't have the combat demo installed.
BUT, there's a caveat!
Once you do that, then the default option after you log in will ALWAYS be the Combat Tutorial! Which means you'll need to make an extra step: log in, switch from tutorial to main game, hit play.
I personally found that occasionally launching the combat tutorial wasn't nearly half as bad as the constant need to switch modes...
I've reported this bug to Frontier, but I doubt it high on the priority list...

First time i've installed elite i've installed the combat training without knowing that it was integrated into the full game. Then when i've installed the game i realized that and deleted the training folder, without any issue for the game nor internal training
