Unique ship unlock for each PP faction

In this idea would players unlock already existing ships?
Because it's easy to came up with an idea of gazillion new ships. Someone needs to create them for the game though, which in reality of ED doesn't happen often.

Also, I see people supporting Alliance or Federation pledged to various Powers from the opposite side just to get modules. I don't like how it works somehow.

Mod to the idea: Have the ship available to anybody, but only sold at the seat of power. Faction members get big discounts, ship somewhat overpriced w/o.

Doesn't change the core problems:
1. It doesn't make people play PP. It just makes them circle PP factions to get the ships.
2. We'd need not one or two, but 11 (!) new ships. Using existing ones is not good, as it would just cut down on options we already have.
3. Not only would we need that many new ships, they'd also all have to be good and useful and equivalent in all aspects of gameplay. (Unless you want to have one faction be absolutely dominant due to having a slightly better ship available. Even if the advantage is rather small, players will absolutely gravitate to it. )

Thus i really think that PP doesn't need more extrinsic rewards. I'd rather even dispose of the existing ones and make them available to the public. Instead of adding rewards, PP should rather get more interesting and engaging gameplay. Intrinsic fun beats any extrinsic item reward.

And, knowing people, they would do the least "grinding" way to do this, which propably means hauling merits to the nearest location, making life of the "real" powerplayers miserable.
There is a reason most players support a move to pp open only and switching the pp modules to tech brokers. Module shopping is bad enough, implementing ship shopping will make it worse.
This exactly. Very bad idea OP.
