Universal Cartographics

Only certain station types come with Carto services. For example, military outposts do not by default, while scientific ones do. You may be able to force some stations to adopt Carto by building first an orbital comms station, followed by an exploration hub. However, I have not yet tried this and cannot confirm. You will most likely need to follow the same "orbit body" rules that are in place for economy type influence to put it into a station that does not already have it.

I think most folks have not prioritized carto in their stations as much as they have been fretting over goods production, so if anybody else can add details, that would be great.

I have an outpost which is high tech. Has cartographics.
Not sure why it's the only one of 8 assets that does.
Security
Military
Relay
x2 Extraction (planetary)
Mining
Industrial (planetary)
Commercial (1st outpost built)

All tier 1
Just started a tier 2 asteroid base. Perhaps that will have one?

My Commercial outpost with Relay installation next to it (economy 50/50 Colony/High Tech) has Universal Cartographics and outfitting with maximum of 4E modules. So it seems High Tech economy or system Tech Level of at least 5 (given by my scientific surface outpost on a separate planet) might play a role.

Just curious:

Almost 2 weeks ago I finished a T2 planetary bio settlement, a (non landable) orbital scientific station and a comms station but still the planetary bio settlement does not have cartography.

System is in anarchy government, military primary economy and colony secondary economy and holds around 8 facilities in total.

Sounds a bit strange to me :/

Any ideas on how to get cartography running? I'm a bit desperate here, as the main goal of building the surface planetary bio settlement was to have cartography.

P.S: Unfortunately the T2 planetary bio settlement does not have a shipyard, either :/
