Unknown drive Failure- Carrier jump event In HIP 39768

So we followed the Musashi into Hip 39768 to see what the guy was up to. Mcoy can explain in more detail what happened to him, suffice to say he had an unusual event on entering the system before the Musahi arrived where his drives spooled up and failed. This also happened to me when jumping ins system from the star to the ruins. But for me i was in the ship. I had a large red message informing me the jump had failed - so i got out... Thats where the bug came in (a primary reason i did not capture it) i ran up to the command deck looked in nav panel and was left behind at the star in EVA while in the menu. typical. After horizon shuffle i respawned at star and rejoined my carrier at A14.

To my knowledge noone else has experienced this event. Looking for confirmation

So, I was jumping into the HIP 39768 system yesterday morning sat aboard the command deck of my carrier - this was before the Musashi actually entered the system, mind, we got there first. The countdown was progressing as usual, the drive began to charge with the ever familiar spool-up noise that we all know and love... Then suddenly... CLUNK, WOOP-WOOp-Woop-woop (spooling down), like the USS Excelsior trying to use a malfunctioning transwarp drive, we stalled. Cue Captain Chen doing what appeared to be smacking the console before returning to her datapad, the bright red message flashed on my screen... "JZY-59Y - JUMP ABORTED - UNKNOWN FAILURE"

My father who happened to be sat behind me was in as much disbelief as I was. The words 'UNKNOWN FAILURE' still put fear into my heart a la 'UNKNOWN SYSTEM MALFUNCTION' and 'UNKNOWN SYSTEM DISRUPTION' with 'Unknown' always being the code word for Thargoid.

I'm going to get some more carriers to jump into the area and see if it can be replicated, but until then... It's an interesting curiosity!

I jumped my fleet carrier into HIP 39768 a few hours before the Musashi arrived and didn't experience anything out of the ordinary.

It's one of the ways Frontier have found to report severs failed to jump your carrier... sometime it won't even let you schedule another jump right away and makes you wait about 1h to try it again.

Fascinating, I've never seen it happen before!

Mine just immediately restarted the countdown from 15 minutes and then we got through okay.
