Unknown Probe: Gained and Lost by Network Issues

Hey all, I've got a situation that I want some advice on.

I winged up with a player I met searching for Unknown Probes. He eventually found one, and I dropped into his instance. He was trying to get some photos of the UP, or so I assume. I dropped a UA that I had found earlier, for better pictures.

Then, after damaging my UA, my wingmate disappeared! I destroyed my UA in panic, but managed to grab his (much more rare) UP. I got the "cargo acquired" message, and sent him a friend request. At this point my connection crashed.

And I've got this on video, uploading as I type.

Now, I have no UP in my cargo hold. Thankfully, my wingmate kept his (and grabbed my UA!).

Should I put in a ticket requesting that my pseudo-stolen UP be restored? Can that be done?

Ticket that sucker and get probing :) ... or just go with your friend an use his probe (ooh er missus).

Honestly i spent about 4/5 hours over 2 sessions looking for the unknown probe but could only get damn threat 0 encoded and decoded USS' so never managed to find one. I seriously wouldnt have taken it to well if id have found one then lost it due to poor network.

Edit: never again am i orbiting that planet in the pleiades , if i never see the damn place again it'll be too soon.

Filed a ticket.

Of course, now I'll have no trouble finding a UP.

P.S. does the UA appear in the cmdr log as "UnknownArtifact" and the UP as "UnknownArtifact2"?
