Unknown Trailer

I take it every one sore this. what do we think? this could be the beginning of something big.

I just hope it isn't an uninteractive cutscene again. The ship causes the SRVs to lose power so i'm worried about this. Also hope this isn't one of those things that take months to find or for FD to flip the switch on.

Seriously though, i will absolutely soil my pants if i see a Thargoid ship bearing down on me. Being in my ship is one thing, the SRV is another.

At least in ur ship you can run if you havnt had your systems knocked out by the Flower ship. in the srv ur in a beer can.

at a guess not just a cutscene. I do predict a meta-alloy based planetary landing suite equivalent that counters the systems jamming and lets you fly against Thargoids if you have the next expansion .

Until we know that this isn't a single location (Ruins) or event (hyperdiction) my expecations are held firmly in check.

The Sound, as ever, is fantastic however. The sound team really can not get enough accolades for their brilliant work.

I know what you mean. I am exploring at the moment and though I am 63,000 ly from all the current alien stuff, when I'm on the surface in the SRV, I feel the isolation and become very aware of the precariousness of my position - very few people to help me if necessary, and closest proper repairs are some 40,000 ly away. I start getting jumpy. Whenever my SRV scanner makes an unfamiliar sound (and even the familiar ones are creepy) or I see something weird on the horizon (always turns out to be a rock or a nebula or (in one case) my own ship), the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Sometimes I get the feeling of something sneaking up behind me and I have to spin the SRV round quickly to check. Sounds a bit silly in the light of day, but at 2am, in an SRV in almost as remote a location as you can be, with the scanner making its creepiest noises, I sometimes find myself dashing back to the ship muttering "Come on! Come on! Go faster!".

I may have watched too many movies/tv series with alien jump-scares, and watching the unknown trailer (I was lucky enough to watch it live on PAX the first time they showed it) with its wonderful sound design definitely does not help! [where is it][alien]

I will become hyped, once i learn that any new gameplay is linked to that. Sure, it looks great. But it is nothing but a teaser.

Lets hope this all moves up a notch in the next release and we the players get some tangible game play from it. iv flown in and out of the pleiades 20 millions times and not got hyperdicted yet if the war comes in 2.3 stick with me and you will be ok.

from the sounds when the ED logo appears sounds like Predators are making an appearance kmwmtd they might already be here lol ;)

IIRC that's the sound the Thargoid scout vessel makes when scanning.

There's a whole lot in this vid, from extensive barnacle sites (note the strange structure on the top) to glowing tunnels of sort and the final scene where the alien ship hovers above the Cobra. That last scene could actually be comprised of several different ones. Wonder what that black organic structure on the left might be. Looks like a ship of sorts, but none we know yet. And right at the beginning, wonder what all those "sticks" on that pirate ship ("The Ravenger") may be for. The other ships have them too - new pirate ship kit?

EDIT: The final scene is one single scene, seen from 3 different zoom levels. The ship could possibly be different from the one in the hyperdiction cutscenes, for the cockpit is on the back | top side. This could be the ship from the Gamescom 2016 Braben interview "interruption" (the one with the Cobra in a heap of debris).

[noob]
