Unlocking Grelics

Yesterday i went to a Thargoids structure with my wingman to get some Grelics. We have some now but the Grelics are stolen cargo so useless to unlock the new mod at the techbrokers. How do these Grelics get the stolen state?

You needed to abandon them instead of just jetisoning them.

You might be able to re abandon them and pick them up by the original owner?

that happened to me, I have about 6 of them stolen, the question is that in my case if they are abandoned, the base consumed them, cloned them in corrupt and I took them, when I saw that they were stolen it was too late, more than a failure to throw them is a bug.
