Unlocking Quent in 3.0 can't be any easier

That says it all!

Same deal with Bill Turner, I wen't ice mining for Bromellite the day before 3.0 dropped, today I am seeing it being offered in large quantities as a rewards

No harm i say, means players who dont want to do mining or passenger missions have another valid path of progress to these engineers.

Same goes for the engineers that require data to unlock, the data material trader makes them a good bit easier. Ram Tah for instance. I see it as giving more choice

haha... I made a point of unlocking as many engineers as I could before 3.0 dropped, not knowing how the new grind might be.

it was easy anyway, a few passenger missions in the sol system and I was done.... (pro tip: do pasenger missions if you want modular terminals ;) )

palin on the other hand.... he made me seriously consider why I even play this game lol

Palin is made that bit easier now too, thankfully. Upgrade to G5 FSD on an Asp by the time you have her unlocked and you can even suicide if the cartographics data is not worth it. Maybe 110/115 jumps?

A lot of players may even be further on and have an Anaconda/DBX G5 FSD by the time Palin comes around. Making it easier again.

If the idea of the new engineers is to level the playing field a bit more i think these new mission rewards play into that.

Making things more acessible in ED is always good imo

Even saw a single boom data delivery giving 28 modular terminals. All I can say is, yamiks, it is not being that 'grind' now, you might want to learn new words!

There's plenty of grind left for Yamiks, and a worn-out joystick waiting for his firm grip...

OP, FD will definitely apply the nerf-hammer on this because they seem to think that "fun" in ED equates to a life-like daily drudge of grind. :)

I think it wasn't even hard in the first place. I unlocked him in one weekend just doing stuff for Sirius and grabbing the MTs on the way. And I did stuff inbetween and didn't play 24/7. Who complained before will keep on complaining I guess. :D
So far I really like the mission changes in 3.0. Two many wing missions on the board, for my taste, but the rest is fantastic.

No, it wasn't hard, but it was really tedious. Specially since you were getting them in 4 by 4, and you had to either risk them against npc pirates or constantly traveling to hand them over.

You know that you can deliver them bit by bit, right? You always need to go there to get them out of your hold, but you don't have to carry them around until you have them all.
