Recent changes to the process in which player's submit news items for publication in Galnet and local system news feeds has led the submissions to be marked Private. They are therefore only visible to the submitter and the Frontier Developments.

I for one miss reading them and would like to suggest that interested Freelance Reporters begin submitting there news items here where the community can enjoy them and discuss them freely. Title: Astrocartography request denied at Mars High
Location: Sol
Date: 28 Oct 3302

A delegation of well known and respected scientists representing the Cassiopeia Project arrived today at Mars High requesting astronomical records regarding known supernova remnants within the Milky Way galaxy. The delegation was disheartened when they were turned away without so much as a comment from Karl Devene, head of the Federal Astrocartography Department.

"We were allowed to speak only to one very low-level staff member of the Astrocartography department," said Professor Steven Eisler. "This staffer said that they would be unable to service the request while echoing the sentiment that our venture is 'dangerous and irresponsible'".

The Cassiopeia Project is mounting an expedition, departing on November 5th, to locate two famous supernova remnants deep in the Cassiopeia constellation that have eluded discovery by explorers seeking to be the first to visit them first-hand.

Just wanted to share a few local news items that have been published in Prism (relevant to the unfolding storyline). It's been fun observing player interaction on both sides of this saga.

Title: Demanded release of Kahina Loren
Date: 29 OCT 3302
Location: Galnet

Many independent pilots from around the galaxy are calling for the release of former senator Kahina Loren. On 28th OCT 3302, Loren was found guilty of the attempted assassination of Admiral Denton Patreus. If demands are not met within the next few weeks, pilots will begin to cause unrest in the Daibo system where Loren is supposed to serve out her sentence. One pilot was quoted "I have over a dozen UA's I'm ready to deploy". Another said "I've already began attacking system authority vessels". The threats don't stop there, several CMDRs have promised to carry out these attacks until Loren is released.

The Shape of Things to Come

On a recent trip to Maia, sociologist Odette Augustin courted controversy while commenting on video from the SYNUEFE XR-H D11-102 ruins.

"Without more research I cannot be sure, but on a superficial level many of the motifs in these ruins echo those seen in our society. In one video we can see an active 'monolith' with flashing triangular shapes, not unlike what greets us in our station screens. Elsewhere the triangle features prominently in these alien constructs, just as it does in human architecture and fashion."

She concluded:

"Each day we discover more evidence of other intelligences, and we have to ask, what influence have they had on humanity? In 2280 we discovered the Martian Relic so we know other extraterrestrial intelligences have visited Sol in the past. Have they guided us, or has humanity risen amid their ashes....and if they were destroyed, what doomed them?"
