General / Off-Topic Unpopular opinion: I like BFV

I also liked BFH. Well, at least the story mode.

I just feel that with all the hate, I wanted to show some love for, IMO, an under appreciated game. Feel free to join in.

I quite enjoy EAs storys in games.
However, the multiplayer is pure garbage these days. Lol

Probably because I'm old and slow compared to the new generation of gamers, so multiplayer is just a running and suicide simulator.

On a technical level recent EA games like BF and Battlefront are stunning and I pretty much enjoy SP part of some of em (except Dragon Age Inquisition and Andromeda that were atrocious). But MP is not my cup of tea and BF V feels like reskin of EA previous games. And at this point no matter how good EA games looks like I wont buy anything from them. Gaming AAA industry is a business and I get it but EA crossed the line and literally dont care about customers and only about shareholders.

We understand that you will not buy the game

:p

I have no problem with people not buying a game if they don't like it. My problem has been people seemingly actively trying to have the game fail, even for those that enjoy it. It's rather selfish, IMO.

BFV might be good for you then. Sure, it can feel fast (TTK), but actually, if you slow down, kill advancing rushers, and plan routes of cover to cover to cover, you actually do surprisingly well compared to said rushers.

But then again I might be biased ;)

Usually Im of the same opinion, but this is EA we're talking about

theyre practically anti-consumer practices incarnate, I dont think it would be that bad a thing if they failed. It would at least show other companies in the business if they can fall then they probably should go for a more pro-consumer outlook.

It wont happen though, they have Madden and FIFA keeping them aloft, and people will always buy those year in year out

One of the things I loved about the battlefield series was the level of detail and attention to some level of realism. Also that it was not a call of duty game.
No one is running around with a pistol with a bayonet attachment, plus a flamethrower and explosive heat seeking bullets.

Your just another faceless grunt in a much larger battle and victory required tactics, strategy and team coordination.

I feel the battlefield series is trying too much to be like call of duty with the last 2 games.

Unfortunately, ED is also concerned on the forums

Oddly, that seems to be a thing. Who knew.

I'm not trying to sabotage it. I just vote with my wallet. I won't buy any more EA games till they...you know - stop being EA. On the other hand I don't wish them any success with it, because they don't deserve it.

I blame the NFL for EA's massive uprise in all genre of gaming thanks to madden which was crap (still is) compared to the superior competition back in the day but with them gone that gave EA a huge boost in revenue giving them the ability to ruin companys and get away with copy paste games like BFV.

But I truly believe BFV has features that will only make other games better, like crouch sprinting, character customization, and trying to increase squad play.

Those features will die with BFV, becuase the whole thing will be a failure (if it fails), and no one will talk about the good stuff.

The opposite is true with say, BO4. A game with the bare minimum put in, but likely successful due to battle royale. It won't even have a single player .

The precedence set will be this. Less effort = more profit. Just like at battlefront 2! It made cash despite it's obvious flaws. All becuase we as consumers don't appreciate a good thing when we see it, and lemming to the latest fad.

It'll kill gaming if we continue on our supposed righteous path, mark my words.

What will kill gaming is publishers who are allowed to get away with stinking business practises.
