Unsellable narcotics

This has happened to me a couple of times now. I find an Imperial place with loads of cheap, legal narcotics for sale and a list of systems to which they export those narcotics. Some of the systems have export lines on the g-map, but many don't. Whether they are on the map or not, when I get there they don't legally buy narcotics and they don't have a black market anywhere in the system. So I have a hold full of illegal drugs and I have to jump miles away to find a place to sell them. Why do systems show up on the narcotic export list when there is no way to sell them there?

Most likely power-play. Several of the PP factions ban a variety of items, including narcotics, when they are in control or exploiting a system.

Galmap has HERE IS THE ILLEGAL BLACK MARKET signs on it when you check the system map data, though honestly IDK if the signage is affected by PP override status or not.

So the export list is not to be trusted because it isn't updated to reflect current facts. Brilliant.

Mind you, I'm getting more money from killing the pirates attracted to my class A cargo than I would have done from selling it. I have "report crime" switched off.

You may be in systems under Arissa Lavigny-Duval's control, where the black markets are shut down (boo! :mad:).
Black markets in systems being exploited by her have reduced prices, so altogether it's a bad place for your narcotics.

The system export lists do tend to be a bit iffy, especially with illicit goods. I trust my own experience, all recorded in a little black notebook on my desk, for the best places to buy and sell.
