Unstable operation of the game loader

I do not understand - why it depends? I press the launch button in the loader Elite Dangerous Horizons. Sometimes it just does not start (as if there was no pressing) and waiting for the game to start does not give a result. And sometimes - the game starts normally and immediately. Starting a game is more common than refusing to start. I do not understand the reasons for this. The situation has been going on for more than a half a year from April on the same computer. Updates to the operating system and other programs have no visible impact. Failure to start the game from the loader - occurs randomly. Without any traceable system. I can exit the game and run the loader – and the game starts normally. And I can go out and run the loader again – and the game does not start. And - no error message appears. The start button returns to its initial color. It may take some time and when I try again - the loader starts the game normally. And sometimes - that the game starts only after reboot of computer. But after the starting - the game going long time and normally.

Any ideas?

I've had this issue in the past, but it wasn't intermittent, it was permanent.

This is the info from the FAQ but that didn't resolve the issue, so I contacted Support and they gave me some more things to try:

- Open 'Programs and Features' and uninstall all items beginning with 'Microsoft Visual C++...'
  • Run 'Disk Cleanup' in Windows. Make sure to tick the option to Delete temporary files
  • Restart your PC
  • Run the installers found in your installation folder: Standalone: C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Redis

As a final step, please restart your computer once more or if the installers direct you otherwise, please follow their instructions. Once this has completed you should find that the game will start up properly for you.

That resolved the problem.
