" Unsuccessful" on perfectly useful systems.

Have tried to colonize is 4 different areas today, all of them return an 'unsuccessful' claim despite no current architect and the system being available. Incredibly frustrating! Anyone else having same issue?

Basically all empty systems in nice areas are empty because they're invalid. Check the system map. No flag and you can't colonise. Check for a carrier parked by the flag. If the slot is full you can't colonise. We've all seen the systems and many have tried to take them because they're empty and in nice spots. If you look at it and wonder how nobody took it already you know it's broken and you don't need to go check it.

Really? Oo

You can "reserve" a system for yourself just by parking a FC in the slot where the colonization ship would stay if the system would be colonized?

To be honest: If this is really (still) the case, I'm quite shocked and this issue needs to be removed quite fast as it is really not fair to block others from colonizing. Is there an issue tracker for this to support?

I can only go from what they've said and what we can see.
This is a known issue which is caused by the game being unable to locate a suitable position for the initial starport, which can occur for many different reasons.
I know of at least 1 system that cannot be claimed, has a primary port flag and has a fleet carrier parked in that orbit. Attempting a claim will flag the system and it'll be opened up once the issue is fixed.

These were all 'green' systems with flags and listed as available. When I tried to colonize it wouldn't let me.

Yes as far as I can tell whatever was supposed to mark them as invalid after the first failed attempt does not work since it didn't do that the first time you tried or the first time I tried. However you can be sure if it's in a good spot many people have tried so if it's green and suspiciously not taken it's invalid and nobody knows why.

Would you please be so kind as to take some time to look up, if there are actual FCs parked in those systems? This could prove/disprove the theory of FCs actively blocking colonization in those systems.

Spansh, inara, EDSM would be (probably unreliable and/or outdated) datasources or maybe take a tour and fly through them directly.

Thank you.

You can go check Mot. The system looks perfectly fine but just declines colonisation and the only thing that seems different was the carrier.

The first system I claimed in phase 1 had a FC in it and it didn't cause problems. I've tried to claim Mot myself though a few times and got the same thing, I'm guessing that all invalid systems aren't properly marked yet.

Thank you both for your input.
Mot is a system where lots of FCs ar located, yes. But its a single system, so it makes if fairly hard to draw conclusions for other ones.

That's why I asked to maybe go check out some others you might know of (or CMDR Mirakosh Skyrider in that case).

They seem to know about it but there's no word on causes or possible fixes. Since there's been a few new threads made on the topic maybe they'll give it more attention.
