Unsure: 213 kills, still Novice?

does anyone know how much is needed? I'm pretty sure your right, as I have over 650 kills and I'm still competent. But I have just under 4 mil in bounty claims

I got Master last night at exactly that kill count. Wanted to grind it out before the heat changes from v1.1 hit.

If Expert is around 600 kills, and the ranking is based off the money paid out it should flip at around 5.1 million credits. I can't remember what my earnings were back then but I think it was around 550-575 kills.

The "Bounties Claimed" seem not to be important, only "Profit from Bounties" does matter.
It's same for Trade Rank and Exploration Rank.
Rank = Profit.

Sadly, it seem the Assassination and Combat bonds do not apply in the Combat Rank progression.

It can't be based on profit from bounties because I have almost 5 million more in bounties than chubbybunneh and his rank is higher.

From what I gather, the credits made by bounties and total number of kills isn't indicative in relation to ranking. Just that you have to turn in the bounties to add "credit" towards rank progression.

You can get a Novice with a bouty of 10k credits and an Master with a 2500 bounty, but if you're an Expert, the Novice kill doesn't count towards your rank progression, yet the Master one does. So you can say that your income from bounties does matter, and even the kill count, it's just that not all of it does.

Basically saying, if you want to increase your combat ranking, go after bounties equal to or higher than your current rank. An supposedly the further above your current rank the target is, the faster you will progress.
