Unsure if PC will run JWE2

I tried multiple test sites, pcbenchmark says it can run it and system requirements lab says I cannot, they both say I meet the requirements for everything but disagree on GPU (GTX 980M).

another point is that userbenchmark says my gpu is better than the minimum legacy GPU and 1050ti.

so I’m mostly confused about the conflicting results.

Hi there McCrongus!

We released the system requirements earlier. You should just meet the minimum requirements with a GTX 980M, but you might not be able to run it at the highest resolution.
  • MINIMUM:
    • OS: Windows 10 64bit (min version 1809)
    • Processor: Intel i5-4590/AMD FX 8370
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: (4GB VRAM) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti (Legacy GPU: GeForce GTX 960) / AMD Radeon RX 470
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 14 GB available space
  • RECOMMENDED:
    • OS: Windows 10 64bit (min version 1809)
    • Processor: Intel i7-5775C/AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
    • Memory: 12 GB RAM
    • Graphics: (6GB VRAM) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD RX 570 (8GB)
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 14 GB available space

Thanks for the response! I just wanted to make sure given how the test sites were giving me conflicting answers

So how does this compare to JWE 1? Asking because my computer runs that one just fine on maximum settings...

I wouldn't bother with those hardware testing sites. They aren't that good. I suggest waiting till release and trying it then. Steam has a really generous refund policy of 2 hours of gameplay and 14 days. Hop into the game and start playing for an hour and see how it performs. Use something to tell you how well it's running like MSI Afterburner. In about an hour you should know. If the performance is acceptable than you are good to go. If not you can request a refund and wait till you get better hardware or whatever. Just make sure you don't play too long cause you only have 2 hours. But if you play that long I would take it that the performance is fine.

It's a park management game so you don't really need a steady 60 fps, while 60 fps or higher is nice it's really important for games like Doom Eternal and so on. Games that have fast twitchy gameplay and basically need to be running as smooth and fast as possible to be enjoyable. Lets say you start the game and play for about 40 minutes and all you are seeing is like 40-50 fps. I would say that would be fine for this type of game.

Also keep in mind you can always tweak your settings or use a preset to get the performance you want. That's one of the good things about PC gaming.

I already looked over the system requirements and yes your hardware is getting a bit old. You are probably a little better off than the minimum requirements but you are behind in the recommended requirements. Also that's a 980M and from what I have heard the mobile versions don't perform the same as a regular GPU's. So you might still be held back a bit with it. The GPU's listed in the system requirements are desktop GPU's.

Laptops are not really the best choice for PC gaming. Even the expensive gaming laptops can't compare to a good desktop. I always tell people to get a desktop or build a PC for gaming.

I know GPU's are expensive right now but when the prices drop, and they will eventually, maybe you can upgrade to something better or build your own and get a better GPU.
