unsure whether to purchase..

It's very good

A review from a site I trust to give a balanced opinion:

Graphics have a very distintive style which I really like. Take a look at the videos/screenshots and see what you think.

I didn't get bored, engaging gameplay with various ways to approach the missions. Good replayability.

And challenging on the hardest difficulty however you play.

An inspiring video on how someone very skilled can play the game. (It's an early level, I've put it in spoilers because in case you don't want to see ... but how they play it is amazing)

Edit: PS, I played on PC, there doesn't seem to be much/any difference in versions

Honestly great game. Nows a good time to get it also. There is a sequel coming out in the not too distant but unspecified future.

I don't have the GOTY version but Dishonoured is a really interesting game. Not the longest campaign, but definitely replayable as there are a whole load of different ways for completing each level.

The aesthetic is fantastic, too. Decent characters, and an engaging but kinda obvious storyline. Tight, doesn't overstay it's welcome.

I very much enjoyed it, and I keep meaning to go back for another playthrough to see things that I missed the first time through. I paid full price and didn't regret it.

EDIT: @ Steed - that was amazing. I only played low chaos (I need to do a high chaos run), but some of his tricks were insane.

Look at the other vids on his channel, I started with Dishonored but I've watched ones for games I haven't played just because he's so good.

Dishonored is a really great game. Visually striking, with wonderful world-building, loads of freedom, even if the story isn't amazingly great. Kinda like a Deus Ex/Bioshock(1&2) fusion. Fun going for a completely non-lethal play through. :)
