Untypical Shield Scans Issue

Hi all, been playing about three months now and never have I had so much trouble sourcing a material as now. Hours and hours this evening scanning combat ships with only one drop! There must be something wrong at present, seen various forum posts where someone from FD has said they will look into it, still no sign of a reasonable drop. Now I don't mind a grind but only for something tangiable, not a middle range material that I shouldn't have to spend hours with no luck. Anyone else experiencing problems? I have 92 MEF, 55 CIF, I want to buy my Anaconda that I have painfully grinder for and I can't because of this rediculous frankly maddening system we are forced to endure.

Whoever suggested some sort of material exchange at the stations I was reading needs a job swiftly before players start to really wonder what all the hours are for.

I've found that Untypical drop rates can vary wildly from system to system. If you're not finding it in one place move on. I think someone said independent systems in lockdown were good, but I'm not sure.

Try compromised nav beacons. Scan the high-level NPCs there. Jump out, jump in, repeat. You should get untypical shield scans.

EDIT: If you don't want a fight, make sure your cargo hold is empty.
