Lately I have been noticing that some stations have a much farther safe disengage distance than others, or for the 1Mm distance that it used to be. My own home station has a range of about 3.5Mm, and on this last outfitting run I found a station (with loads of good gear) that had a 5.5ish Mm safe disengage range! Has anyone else noticed this and do you know what causes it?

Though this effect doesn't appear to occur for signal sources.
No, it does apply for signal sources as well. In fact I thought it did only apply for USS.
In deep space you can get a safe disengage range of 15+ Mm (might be more, but I can't check right now).
