Unusual War in Siniang

17-21 Feb, The Allied Commission (TAC) fight Paragons of the Empire (PE), and win, taking the system controlling station as expected.

In mid March, TAC boost their influence up to 75% for expansions.

3 days ago, with TAC still over 75%, and PE below 25%, a war starts between the two - PE defending a secondary outpost, TAC attacking.

System allegiance has also reverted to Empire on the galaxy map - almost as if the controlling asset has changed from the original Port Wheeler surface outpost (constructed 8 August) to the secondary Powell Silo orbital outpost (constructed 22 August) - if that's the case, it would explain the apparent coup-like behaviour, but not why the controlling asset was updated...

Anyone since anything similar in other systems?

Once I saw similar thing before, with one of my supported faction started an expansion with 7%(!) influence. Thats an FDev manual intervention.

In WHS its because of the Empire lost its last controlled system (Lembass soon lost to Alliance, too). WHS must have a minimum of 1 Empire controlled system, as the presence of that superpower was an Interstellar Initiative community reward.

Possible future contents.(?)

Presence, yes - and Lembass isn't lost for at least another 4 days. Ownership of specific assets? If they'd wanted to keep that fixed then they have ways to do that. This seems to have given the Empire a system back ... for about a week.

They must save the Empire there. Community goal rewards must stay locked. If they let loose those, it can cause massive problems - with effect on the community. Like losing faction reward fixed megaships or asteroid bases, or even let lose some non-PMF assets with lore (like the Golconda, or NCB at Zaremov station, etc.). This should not happen!

This hasn't generally happened in the past, though - Obsidian Orbital in Maia has changed hands at least twice, for example, and assets gained by player-submitted CG aren't protected against takeover.

I assumed back when Witch Head was originally introduced and the BGS was entirely frozen that they were deliberately doing so for future plot ... perhaps they've decided that since they don't have time for plot right now, letting it become the Mahon Head Nebula and then having something to hang an "inter-superpower hostility" story off later is more interesting.

War in Siniang ended. No assets changed. (Windham Centre stays at Paragons of the Empire with the war won 4:0 by the Alliance).
