Unwanted things?

I was just thinking there should be a negative action that can happen... let me give an example,

-I see a random canister but the can of pressurized whipped cream detonates in my cargo bay, doing "X" damage to the bay forcing it to be repaired.
-I am transporting rare animals and they give birth (tribble style)
-Due to human error the fuel hose wasn't detached properly and your launch is aborted while the spill is cleaned up
-You are picked up by patrols because someone transposed your ship id number and you have to talk out of it or pay a small fine
-You make your delivers and they refuse to pay and you need to threaten them with patrol before they will pay
-You are trying to leave but the attacking pirates are filling the door, your timers runs out but manage to take out 6 pirate vessels opening the way for you to get out.

just..life goes on game flavour

The dangerous leaking cargo idea is in there already. Try picking up the canisters from the first training scenario.
Am sure that there will be a few traders that will try to avoid paying you depending on who they are and your reputation for instance if you are at a major port, they will all pay but if you are in an independent outpost that may harbour pirates then things may not go according to plan unless your reputation is such that they are too scared to double cross you.

A can that did not explode in space is not likely to explode in a pressurized cargo bay. If it is going to blow anywhere it would do it in space as the pressure differences would be far greater there.

Noted, but the concept stays, it is bumped and knocked as the scoop grabs it and it causes the canister to open and explode... it is just a small matter of redefining but the idea of what we are presenting is solid.

(Personal note: Spectre Alpha, helpful related ideas rather than picking them apart is much more useful. Suggesting a change rather than shooting it down please)

LOL, I Love it!!
Here's one:
- Your girlfriend writes, " Go to He11" on your cockpit windshield, with lipstick, after breaking up with her and you have to find a chemical in a distant star system to get it off!
 :D

ROFL... I am sure I woke the neighbors with that spate of sound

This meatbag which I use as Pilot is a Messy....maybe it will be nice that you must clean up from time to time the cockpit otherwise you can't see out (like with tribbles in 84er Version).

Well, have to choose a new beastie but we are creative lot, I don't see Paramount being nice unless hell hath a snowstorm.

Here's a couple more 'Unwanted' missions!!:

Ship License renewal - You have to go to your local 'Department of Space Vehicles' to get your ships license renewed. Upon accepting the mission you are required to go to 15 other star systems to get documents because your paperwork, "Wasn't in order". Failure to complete the mission results in having to repeat the mission in a week or risk having your license suspended because flying is a "Privilege not a right"
OR
Safety Recall Mission - This mission requires you to go to the place where you originally purchased your ship because of a defective part that has been recalled by the manufacturer. Once getting to your destination, you will be required to sit in space dock for around 8 hours until said ship is fixed.
OR
The medical test mission - In this mission you are required to go halfway across the universe to a specific station to get an annual Colonoscopy because you are an older commander and you have a family history of Polyps. Also, it's the only station that will accept your insurance..
:D
This is a fun thread!
