Update 1.1.0 - 'Incorrectly Placed Educational Items'

I'm getting this message for multiple things in my park but I have absolutely no idea what it means, or how to fix it. Clicking on the message takes me to the 'Staff' tab in the Facilties page of the Zoo Info window. Doesn't show me anything.

Any ideas?

I think it could be because a Enclosure is empty. I often have empty Exhibits in my Reptile-House and have 11 Notifications

I don't think it can be that - I do have a couple of Exhibits empty, but I'm getting notifications of 36 problems. I only have 9 Exhibit boxes D:

I bought new Animals and the Notifications are gone now. Check also your big Enclosures. Maybe you have that many Notifications because you use Education Boards and Speakers

Oh my word you are so wise, and I am so stoopid!! Ofc!! Thank you so much!! <3

You also have excellent new filters for education which shows issues, alongside the litter and vandalised items filter.

i got this too when i placed a board on a wall instead of using one on a stand, but then i Pit one on a stand where I had that one and it worked so idk.

That's weird because I place most of the Education Boards and Speakers directly on the Fence and I get the Notification only if a Enclosure is empty

I'm having that issue also. The thing is that if it says the education items are the issue we shouldn't be looking for empty habitats.

I'm going to try this the next time I'm on. Hopefully it will fix it. Thank you for the info.

The stand is just an accessory, I use a wide range of stands for my boards, directly on barriers, rocks, stone blocks etc. They do not effect placement in my experience. The range on screens is quite small though so they do need to be close to the habitat. Also complex habitats, such as multi level habitat can cause issues with height. For example if you have a multi level habitat with barrier on the bottom level, you might struggle with screens on level 2.

I think they may have applied functionality relating to this I found in the help documentation for education items.

Guests will use a sign by stopping at it and examining its contents. If the content relates to an animal in proximity the guest's education level is boosted. If the animal is far away the boost is reduced.

So, maybe before patch there was no proximity in place, either in functionality or both functionality and help information.

I would imagine these are just warnings to let you know that your education items are not giving their full capacity.

If you have a large habitat or use overhead walkways a lot you may find these may cause more issues than others.

I looked to see if the education heat map shows some sort of radius marker and it doesn't. This might help us Frontier :)

For those with steam accounts I have these images demonstrating how just moving it slightly will make it work .. at that point in time..

For quite awhile after placement there were no warnings but at some point after .. 1 .. just 1 of them reported an issue. The animal in question .. a saltwater crocodile pair that goes in and out of the water .. The ones on either side of the problem one had no alerts for them .. which doesn't make sense unless a time factor is involved or guest access to the education item.

What if .. just thought of this ... when the guest starts reading it lets you know that at that point they didn't get a good boost because the animal wasn't nearby at the time they were reading. Maybe the next time someone does they are and there won't be an issue. I think more monitoring will need to be done.
