Update 1.6 - anyone else getting system error crash at spinning ship loading?

As the title suggests, after update 1.6 I can no longer get into game! arrrgggghhhhhhh..........

I get about 10 sec of spinny-ship then an audible bong and a Crash to black with SYSTEM ERROR text saying re-install game.

Anyone else getting this? should I ticket? Should i re-install? if so will i loose my save game!? (I really hope not)

No...but I can't seem to target stations to dock.

Getting a No contacts message.

Not been able to play the game since last weeks patch, playing fine up until the update (yes it's on a below par machine but it's been playable).

oh dear sorry to hear that, im on a pretty old machine too but could play from 1.3,1.4,1.5 etc fine with occaisional CTDs which i put down to my "rig". gues its this build thats a bit nuts eh. bummer.

No But ED doenst recognices my HOTAS Profile anymore it switches to Keyboardandmouse control instead. Didn't had those problems with 1.5 !
Please fix it FD!

It also appears all of Australia has been locked out of the game (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=103157).

FD are looking at it, hopefully our problems will be sorted soon.

oh i really hope my gamepad settings havent been wiped too! i hate having to re-bind keys and buttons

I just did a quick test. Log on and in system flight to another station.
No problems at my end.

Do you have access to a VPN client? That is the only other thing I can think off.
