Update 13 Notes (from a parallel universe)

Greetings Commanders,

A new update is now available for Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, which includes a number of fixes and improvements. Please find the full update notes below:

Graphic

Reworked the failing rendering quality of anti-aliasing options. Clearer and smoother images now.

Fixed incorrectly calculated shadows based on light from the sun when the planet is near.

Fixed a poor quality 2015 look when starlights reflected in the cockpit.

More realistic graphics now when sunlight reflections from stars reflect on the ship's hull.



Sound

Frame shift drive sounds that change slightly for each ship.

Engine shutdown sounds that change slightly for each ship.

New assistant notifications with more detailed information.




General optimization

Minimized the issue of overall proportionally decreasing fps as playback time increases (especially on surface stations)

Fixed dirty and sharp images distorted by lighting and shading on surface stations.

Reduced the grain effect on the planet's surface when approaching the planet.

Revised the grain that can occur even on very good GPUs during freefall from the atmosphere towards the surface station. Surface treatment optimized.

Fixed a bug that caused the inside of the station to appear black or incorrectly when viewed from outside.



General

Ships now show signs of malfunction at certain points for each ship during the explosion (Spark, minor explosions)

Climate and weather events to add to planets.

Early 2023 and plans:

The design processes for the new ships have started, the names we are considering for now are Phoenix:Large landing Pad and Orion: Medium landing Pad.

Before the preparations for the ship interiors and the game core and server configuration that need to be prepared for this, Our goal is for Odyssey to have at least Horizons features in every way.

Module failure based on ship abuse. Ed is the safest space hame ever.

I ram stations internals and settlement pads to stop.... no consequences for totally missing treating my ship.

Would love engine flame out and fires even if it was 1 engine only.
Fail random thrusters if no service and thrusters scraps on planet surface. If a thrusters fails then make it affect the ships handling


Can you imagine only being able to rotate you ship clockwise due to thrusters not working.

Realism please please.

I already get that when my x52 goes wonky at random times 😛
