, from Commander Buur, it would appear that the new patch is devoted to 'The War'...that's it! You'd better be interested in 'The War' because as far as I can tell there is quite literally nothing of interest for anybody else.
 
It is a patch... That is why it is called 14.02
What do you expect?
Well, considering all the whining I see on this forum about things that are 'wrong' I thought maybe some of those might be addressed, and yes we don't know everything for sure and I hope that those involved in the war will be delighted. It doesn't really bother me one way or the other. I'm thousands of light years away and quite happy with the game.
 
Not sure that video is worth watching, surely the 20 second read of this weeks Discovery Scanner will tell you exactly the same thing without giving The Burr Pit money? Oh wait, that is the point isn't it!

Well, from that we've seen so far; there's more to this patch than just bug fixes; there's new content as well. I'd love it if those outposts that we're bringing back online had thargoid booby traps, leathery eggs or even zombie troops to clear out!!

Best take off and Nuke the site from orbit! 😁

Gripe? I ususally abhor gripes, but there is sigificant reason to be unhappy here. I am eagerly awaiting the bugfix list for U14.02. I really hope that there it does address issues that have nothing to do with the war, however I am very fearful that it will not, and IMO the game does severely need general QoL fixes.

All of the talk about U14.02 has been about the war related fixes and upgrades. That does not rule out general QoL bugfix catchup, but FDev do try to tal precisely as not to lie to us, I feel that they would have bigged up U14.02 by mentioning across the board QoL fixes if the content was in there. Fingers crossed.

Post Ody release FDev did devote effort into performance and bug fixes across the game for several months. They then turned focus to The Thargoid narrative, and general bug fixes became very rare.

There have been a couple of non war related bugfixes of interest to me in there somewhere. Both of the attempted fixes made changes that in part fixed the issue in question, but 'sort of' cosmetically only, making the overall situation worse in both cases, comically so in one. I've talked about the actual issues elsewhere here so I'll not recount them again.

As such I do queston where priorities lie.

Anyways, lets see what emerges, and I most certainly do support holding back the patch (whatever may be in it) until they have confidence in it.

Good, as it should. The war is kinda a big deal, with the Thargoids in full invasion mode.

It is the forum - there is always a "significant reason" to be unhappy.
As such I do queston where priorities lie.
Where it always has, I'd guess - it is just that the 'team' is obviously reduced to a dev or 2 these days. Cost reasons, of course.

Well, only 32 minutes to wait... Although I feel fairly certain that whatever it contains will not be what is wished for by some.

I totally disagree. Sure if this was IRL the war would be everything. However this is a game, players are here for a variety of reasons/Interests. Some, such as myself have zero interest in Combat, or in the support missions for the war that are non-combat.

What effectively you are saying, is that (like it or not) ED has become "Thargoid War Simulator 2023", and that for anyone who does not agree (however much they might love the rest of ED), the exit is this way?
 
i just hope FD manged to fix the bugged interceptor spawns as well as stuck progress bars.

i have been enjoying the thargoid content a great deal but the knackered instances have really messed up open.... (becasue many players dont see or pay attention to the comms and if just 1 player remains in an instance, it stops a broken instance from being shut down).

if just that is fixed then i will be happy with the update. everything else is gravy. (for me..... YMMV)

It's not only quality of life improvements to features pending as part of Update 14.02, but as promised we will be addressing a number of key issues for Commanders as part of the deployment.

Further specified information on these confirmed fixes will be released as part of the final Update Notes, prior to the deployment going live.

As been said, 14.02 should be a fix for the many issues left unanswered post U14 release.
Having some QoL features related to the ongoing narrative is a really nice thing to have

Edit: and since they mentioned the QoL stuff quite some time ago, way before the actual fixes, it can only mean they didnt delay the fix patch due to QoL but because the fixes were not ready
