Nothing that will change the gameplay at all. 0 management improvements that will have any significant impact discussed. It is clear now what the agenda of Frontier is with this game, they are going after the casual kiddie crowd that don't want to think for themselves, just paint scenery. Sad where what has happened to the legacy that started with RCT1 that had management and simulation features that is far more advanced than what we have today. RCT1 was released in 1999, 26 years ago!
 
I would love to see a return to the simplicity of the rct management aspect of the game but I can't see that happening unfortunately.

I'm generally pleased with what's been announced though, especially with the return of the Western theme.

Would be a good idea to release a DLC along side the free update including a Mack powered coaster seeing as most of them are mine train themed.

Im so surprised by the piece count in the western set!! They mentioned 350-ish pieces!!

I did a quick count and that means we probably get everything back that was remotely Western from Planco 1 (Unless they added new items)
Very glad to see this also includes path items like bins, benches and lights!
 
I do have a small question about the Western theme reintroduction. Will it be extended with non-gridded wall pieces like the new themes or is it limited to what was there in Planco 1?

+1 This is horrible....WHY are all so happy about more old wood pieces that we altready have 1000 of....Please let me know why this theme is so exciting. What am I missing? I want MODERN pieces. Not more old wood.

Oh, he clearly explains that they will change guest generation rate. Population control etc. are rather larger changes, since in almost every equation you somehow end up: how many customers can i reach/do i need to reach. Fixing and controlling this number is small but needed first step for many management changes.....

But my question here: Kerbs?
 
So awesome, thank you so much. I predict that we will get all four old themes, one in every update. This game is turning so positive. Thank you, Frontier. As far as AAA games go, if you get 20+ hrs out of them, you get your money's worth with great story and gameplay. This is a game that an average of 100 hours is normal, and that my peers, is something worth the money spent so far no matter the problems. Keep on it Frontier, this makes you one of the best developers out there.
 
I was upset that path kerbs can't be turned off because I like to make railroad crossings for train rides, and I like to have the tops of the rails level with the path. The kerbs stick up through the tracks. But I discovered a workaround for now. There are paths with tree stumps for kerbs, and I could put track between the tree stumps and nothing would be sticking up through the tracks. I also want to be able to have just one station on train rides, you can do that in PC1. 2 makes you have a minimum of 2 stations. Some parks have train rides that are round trip only with just one station. I think you can do that with the new family train in 2 though. I want the castle theming back as well. I also want a scenario editor and the ability to swap ground textures and even change the biome in an existing park like we could in PC1. And the returning ride for March is a coaster not a flat ride? I feel at this point that both games are missing stuff. There's new stuff in 2 not in 1, and stuff in 1 that's not in 2 yet. We won't get the licensed stuff back like Ghostbusters and Universal cars, etc. though. Those will be stuck in 1 and you can't even buy the Ghostbusters pack anymore. That means if a person buys PC1 for the first time and all the DLC's, if they open a park that used Ghostbusters stuff they won't be able to save it and never will because the pack is no longer available for sale. I wonder what restaurants are in the April update? And hope we get info about the May update soon.

Because it's free and all the old themes are wanted to come back in PC2 by the community... We should be happy that they're releasing it for free instead of a paid dlc. If you want new stuff, you just have to wait and then you'll get something to spend your money for.

This is not hyping Frontier. As you know I'm one of those in this community who's complaining about PC2 really much. But this time I defend Frontier because they're doing what the community is wanting .

Isn't it really working railroad crossings what we are wanting? For the optical aspect, yes but they should find a way to make it really working...
 
I am probably not going to be playing till Sept. or Oct. if they even release Spooky then. Western is bleh to me.

I guess I will take a break from here too for a while. just not feeling it.

Free or not is an irrelevant question, there is not enough variety and quantity of pieces in the game and far less than what PC1 was launched with.

Well, Hi Frontier!

I am glad at least 1 person is happy with the game. You might be the only one.

For me, this "game" is a glorified lego builder with 0 intellectual capacity needed to master. There is no game mechanics that challenges the player at all and all core features of a management/simulation game are either broken or missing. With posts like this, PC2 will never get fixed and it will quietly just die and we are all left without any good games in the genera.

As good as the RCT series was (excluding RCTW), as bad is PC2. RCT1 and 2 is far superior to PC2 is in every aspect other than perhaps the graphics quality. You woul dhave expected that at least the simulation/management part would be on par with a game that got released 26 years ago and that was developed mainly by just 1 guy/ But no, this is so dumbed down.

Frontier has gone from being a very good developer (RCT3 and PC1/PZ) to one of the worst. An example of good developers today, you need to look at Coffee Stain studios, Wube Studios or MaFi Games. All of those are actually listening to their community and communicate in a proper way. They all have far less resources than Frontier, but somehow manage to use their funds way better.

Most of the very dedicated and passionate player base built up over the years, starting with RCT1 has moved on and most likely won't come back unless something drastic changes. The direction PC2 is going, this will never get to where is was promised. It won't even get close to what PC1 was at release, and it was far from issues free.

I am happy you are enjoying the game, but you might be very lonely soon playing the game. The Steam forums are dead at this point, this forum is not much better. Both are quickly becoming ghost towns. But YAY, we got more wooden pieces! Praise the Lords!

Really? Adjusting the guest generation rate to something that is realistic (and what is should have been from day 1 and on par with PC1) is not what I call management and simulation improvements. The guests are still dumb, they still walk in preset paths (slightly less than before, but they still do not spread out as they should, which also coul dbe seen in the videos shown yesterday by Frontier), there are no emptions or impact in what you do that changes how the guests behave.

Unfortunately, unless the game's core mechanics for simulation and management are completely re-written from the ground up, this game will never be more than a scenery painter for kids and YouTube streamers. Even if the game was free, it woud not be worth playing today as it does not challenge you at all. RCT1, released 26 years ago next month and written by 1 guy, is far superior in every way, except perhaps when it comes to graphics quality, than what PC2 is. You would think you at least should be on par with that game for simulation and management? My CPU is idle for the most part when I run PC2, because there are no simulation happening under the hood.

I do agree with you on kerbs though. So strange that you could turn them off in PC1, but somehow that function is not included in PC2.
