My thoughts on the updates today are: meh. No discussion at all regarding making the actual game better. They keep putting bandaids on the problems and no fixes in sight for the true issues such as lack of simulation, stupid guest AI, broken economy etc. At least they did not focus on flumes this time...

This update will not bring back any players to the game, nor will update 5, based on what was shown today.

For me it's totally fine to not go into details about bugfixes. Why should they? As long as they fix them and provide a long chaneglog on release day, that should be enough. I don't care for showcasing the fix, I wanna see new stuff I can work/play with!

Update by update they are adding all the missing content from the original game, like the security guards. That's great.

Also, do you have a pic of the returning flat ride called trident? i don't know which one it is.

The Trident wasn't shown and I haven't took a pic from the Scizzer...

For now it's all a bit confusing. They say its a returning FLAT ride.
However the Trident in Planco 1 is a boomerang coaster :

This is obviously the Sci-Fy theme, however they made quite a point around the word "laser".

The Sci-Fy theme is a lot smaller in number of items then the other themes, could it be they add something with lasers to spice up the theme?
I remember RCT3 had a lasershow feature, could it be something similar?

There certainly are a massive amount of bugs in the game that should be fixed before any new content, but more importantly, what is completely absent from all these new updates are actual improvements/re-work for what matters for the GAME, the simulation, the guest AI, the economy, the horrendous UI that fights you at every click, the broken pathfinding system (most of the paths in a park are still unused by area, the challenging to use (at best) path placement system (forget about using the draw tool on anything other than a perfectly flat surface or you will end up with a terrace garden style layout with unconnected paths. You as a player should not have to fight with the tools every time you use them or try to find clever work-arounds to compensate for unfixed bugs since release day.

There were "some" hope of relevant improvements to the core game when they released the original version of the "roadmap" and it had "ongoing guest, economy and management enhancements" listed. But as the updates got released (we are now 3 updated into the roadmap) it is very clear that they don't care at all about that part of the game as nothing meaningful has been improved and not that part of the roadmap is no longer listed fo rfuture updates. So what we have is as good as it will get. This "game" will end as a glorified scenery painter for a very select few people. No wonder there are only a tiny fraction of the players left playing based on Steam statistics. A game from a AAA studio that only has around 1,000 active players on a monthly basis, cannot survive very long and with updates (lack thereof) like this, they won't draw many new players in as well. Using some very optimistic numbers, based on today's player count, and adding 100% of the average players for a given month as new customers monthly, that only brings in $50,000 per month (using current US sell price). That won't be nearly enough to cover any incremental cost they are raking up monthly, excluding the whole black hole of the total development cost for the game then must recoup before any profit can be made. For a publicly traded company, they can only accept losses like that for so long before they must move on, or the shareholders will get angry.

You can disagree with me all day long, but numbers don't lie and without money brought in and profits being made, they are doomed.

Yes, you a right...

Except Frontier is not AAA, probably more AA or even A and most of the games like paradox for example are in for the long run, this is how they make money. Neither Elite or PZ bring in a lot of meaningful new players, yet they are still supporting those games.

For the rest it is a mixture out of 'git gud' and 'meh dude' you clearly have no idea. While guest needs, pathfinding and economy still needs some way to go. it is way better than you make, it is not even a broken state anymore. So maybe instead just spamming so things, where you clearly have no idea off:

I am not playing it. That is the whole point.

So maybe you should launch the game, pick out what exactly you don't agree with, open any ai, let them formulate your points on a basis, that people can get behind it, but your biased and subjective tone doesn't help you in the long run. As you see as many people are critical of the game, but nobody is jumping on your bandwagons.

If you don't think nobody is agreeing with my stance you must be living in a bubble. The player count alone kind of prove my point. Most of the discussions around the game is about negative feedback. That is not something you see a lot of for a healthy, thriving game. But, each to their own I guess. If you are happy with the current state and future plans, good for you.

It is easier to list things that do not work well or are broken than to list things that do work well. I did provide a long list of things that does not work, not sure why I need to launch the game again for you? If you look at other posts here, I launched it as recently as a few hours ago when discussing the broken flumes after update 3.

As far as ED and PZ not bringing in a lot of new players anymore, it is not a shocker by any means. We are talking about a game that was released over 11 years ago (ED) and over 5 years ago. No game that is that old will add meaningful new players at that stage of their life. However, what both games do have is a high quality and far more polished experience than what you have with PC2, so you have a very large built up player base that are very happy. That happy player base will keep buying DLCs, which is the only reason Frontier are keeping those games going. Don't fool yourself thinking Frontier is keeping those game supported because the love you as, they do it because it makes them money. In the ase of PC2, they do not have the luxury of a large, happy player base today (just look at the active player numbers as well as total sales from the game, you can find those in their earnings reports since they are a publicly traded company) and unless they do some dramatic changes, they will not keep pumping in money into a dead game. Frontier is a for profit business, not a charity, and they main, and only goal is to make money for themselves and for their shareholders.

Dude, you are bit barking at the wrong tree. I neither own PZ nor ED (or at least i didnt spend any money on it, it is in my epic account as i grabbed it as part of their free games).

But yeah, PC2 didnt probably meet their full expectations, they are still healthy and they will probably make money down the road, if they continue their path. Of course they are calculated for a quick buck, but also they are calculating on their games to sell their nice 80-250€ packages to the players on a long term basis.

And again this is a retail title, so playercount is not that important for them, it reflects a bit of the market, but not that much as some steam currators want to tell you. Right now they are still hogging that sweet niche: providing the best Theme Park game out there. They are providing meaningful updates and this is all we can hope for.

What i dont like is the 'all black and go to hell' communication you are trying to do (not only you), but here i am call you out. It is not helping, it is not even constructive and everyone has some frustration but then go and do some sports, walk your dog, idk, but your way to communicate is not helpful to anyone. If you want this game to be bad, go make a thread about the issues, you still have, communicate your wants and needs, and when it comes to management/economics etc. I will be one of the first to hop on your threads and give you a +1 or even add some of my insights to it and we can have a civil discussion about it and probably provide some great feedback to frontier on that matter.

In the next update, they are announced the return of animatronics with guns and dynamite.
Yes, they said the dynamite wasn't there because of confusion about the ESRB rating, but it will come back now (I haven't heard 'guns').

This might be the same reason why the cowboy animatronics don't have pistols...
If thinking further, I would assume that we might won't get an adequate pirates theme (with canons and other weapons).

Just checked... PC1 and PC2 do have the same ESRB rating (crude humor and mild violence).
Why do they have (had) concerns?

First off, im lowkey excited for next update. Especially for restaurants. I specifically left spots in my park to build those :)

Now, i was kinda surprised about the reasoning behind the missing items. I do understand the reason, i just dont understand why that wasnt communicated on release of the update instead of letting us in an empty space. I think frontier could do better on this matter in the future, and lets be honest thats not the first time they reveal important information so late.

What left me kinda worried was the fact that there was no mention of a hotfix between now and next update. Are we realy gonna stay stuck with broken speakers for a whole month? And what about the 4k limit that was reintroduced in the last update?

Just so many stuff that keeps getting ignored meanwhile other stuff gets portraied as „people have been asking about this a lot“.

That said, ill probably not be posting that much anymore except for maybe on my parks thread. I see no reason behind involving myself into these discussions anymore if frontier very openly are picking their fights as they fit them. I also dont realy identify myself anymore with a bigger part of the community. No matter what cobtent creators video i comment with my issues about the game, i constantly get called a crybaby, a hater and whatnot…

does that mean that we get a chance to get miss elly back (maybe she isnt in the game for that reason too?)
And will we maybe also get the missing trees and rocks?

The stream yesterday wasn’t as exciting as the one in February. :D
No new theme in April? That’s kind of a shame. On the other hand, after delivering the Western theme, it’s understandable that they’re taking more time.
But what does 'it isn’t sci-fi anymore' mean? Does that mean it will be sci-fi in May or not? What can we expect?

Actually, what I need much more is the castle building set from PC1, with the round roofs, stone-framed windows, and all the ornaments. Pirates would also be great, with the stucco ornaments and stucco walls! Unfortunately, sci-fi wasn’t really my thing. I honestly had no idea what to do with most of the pieces. :D

The restaurant feature is amazing! I hope we’ll also get hotels later this year (with the same kind of innovative approach as the restaurants).
Real parking lots would be cool too! :D

....

Do you have a source for that? I remember that some user and I were speculating about this, but this was speculation. Nothing more.

Exactly same here..Feels totaly pointless by now. WHY spend valuble stream time on showing some blueprints when you can adress actual important issues??
