Well it's good that they have acknowledged that there is a balancing issue.
 
From what I've seen the engineer toys were pretty rare. Luckily. No mention of reducing the AIs skill.

Not sure about the rarity you experienced TBH. I entered in 5 different zones to compete in the CG and each and every time I entered, my Cobra 3's shield's were down to 0% in the matter of 2 seconds by 1-2 Eagle NPC's.
 
Just need to say one more thing..

Lets wait till we have installed the patch that comes with Horizons as well before we spam graphical issues threads...

Well over 200 kills now since update.

Last night while trading. These were all 1 v 1.
2 elite Anaconda. Lost sheilds against one of these
3 elite FDLs. Nearly lost shields against one of these.
1 deadly drop ship.
1 master gunship.
Did 7 runs. Made 10 million plus 1 million from bounties. Not a single one had modifications. After a while the pirates left me alone.

Roughly 1 in 10 ships had engineer gifts. Thats being generous.

This was not my experience at all. I wish I would have video captured what was happening to me each time I entered a zone. I've been shot down before so I get that the new AI is meant to be more of a challenge; but my experience now after the patch is SIGNIFICANTLY different. There is no way my shields should be at 0% in 2 seconds by Eagle NPC's. This happened literally each time I entered a zone back to back.

Shield generator? Boosters? How many pips in combat. Also it maybe more than two ships shooting you. Sometimes they don't flash white. It's an annoying bug as when in non combat areas it's hard to pick out which ship is shooting you in the back when the game isn't reading it as hostile.

So hold on though, because they are removing modded weapons from NPC ships, does that mean that we won't get weapon-related data from scanning ships? I hope that doesn't screw with Engineers when it drops for us.

Probably will.
Scans served two purposes in my eyes.
Let you know what was there and to help engineers craft mods.

That's a good question Sylon put it in the Horizons launch live stream thread and hopefully get an answer directly from Gary.
 
They mentioned the engineer mods being removed from the npc's today server-side.
Has that all allready been done or should I wait a bit longer before hurling my FAS into battle?

Did you see the video someone posted in the bugs forum? It shows the weapon responsible for insta-deaths. It s a glitched plasma accelerater that fires like a multi-cannon :p It is good to see frontier de-fang the a.i. until the bugs get worked out! Im just glad i never ran into one because my rebuy is about 30 mil :D

Server side adjustment, i think its already "done"
Yaaaay, now i just have to hope i don't get Moled and my ranks are still intact ;)

I yet did a bit of combat in my cobra mkiv. It's nice being able to survive against an eagle even if I can't hit it. Guess that means I just need to practice my flying skills more.
