The backer app closed on the 9th and it was updated with the following info.

The Backer's Web App is now temporarily closed as we transition to our new Elite Online Store, thank you all for your support!
If you have any account details or naming rewards that you still need to input via the Backer's Web App it will be reopened in a limited capacity, alongside the opening of the new Elite Online Store, later this week.
In the mean time if you have any urgent enquiries please contact edbackers@frontier.co.uk.

So, that being the case, I'd say although the app's closure was delayed by a couple of days it's pretty clear that things are moving along, even if we all would like it to move a bit quicker.

Probably worth noting that it'll be costing them a lot of money having it down, so I'm sure they're working on it.

FD originally stated that the Backers App would close on the 6th and a new shop would open on the 9th.

It's not December 32 yet, so it's not late. The only gave us two dates, December 6th for closing backing and "December" for the next stage, which is alpha and some form of the store.
