On my PS4 DS controller the D (touch pad) Pad which has 4 buttons which were configured to separate bindings no longer works. The D Pad now has only one button to bind as all 4 are merged and seen as one. Is this a bug or was it supposed to happen Anybody else noticed this?

Mine is working fine. The D-pad changes my pips (systems, engines, weapons, equalise) when I push it on its own and it keeps its 4 separate buttons when I use it with the shape buttons and thumb sticks as shift keys. Have you looked at the controller settings from the main menu to see if those have been messed up by the update?
Yep I tried that the same option - is offered to be changed on all four corners its like the D pad has become only one button not 4. Might be the controller I will try another one, just curious that this is only an issue immediately after an update.
I too have d-pad issues since U12 that the hotfix did not resolve. I use a+up a+down a+right a+left combos etc, none of which work anymore. Restoring older .binds from Feb-May did not help. Re-binding does not help. I've searched issue tracker, but well, it's issue tracker...

Hi, I did kind of find the solution, I undid and redid the bindings for the D Pad after a full PS4 shutdown and reboot. This got me 2 "sides" back but I have to hit the DP towards the middle of the side left or right. It seems to have gone from 4 live corners to only 2 sides and it looks like you have to hit both buttons on the side to activate it. hth
